At the base, bearing witness to later interventions, there is a bronze tombstone with the symbol of the \u2018Combatants\u2019 League\u2019 and the inscription \u201cTo the Combatants Killed for the Homeland \/ Homage to the Combatants of the Great War \/ XI -1918 XI-1968\u201d.
