Miradouro do Mocho Real (Eurasian Eagle-Owl Viewpoint)

Grounded on granitic rocks, at 700 mt high, this viewpoint offers an excellent panoramic of the Mondego Valley, the river canyon of Caldeirão and the water surface of the dam with the same name. From this point one observes the marks of human action along these valleys, which were strongly plowed. We also observe the river canyon of Caldeirão, an epigenic adaptation of the stream with the same name. This canyon is a result of erosive action of the stream which, in its process of fitting, dug the corneal rock resulting from the metamorphism of contact of the granites with the metasediments.
