The monument consists of three mouldings representing the three overseas provinces (Angola, Mozambique and Guinea) supported by a central tower. The side plaques bear the following inscriptions: ‘Homage to the Overseas Combatants of the Municipality of Guarda’ and ‘A man only dies when he ceases to be remembered’.
