Praia Fluvial de Valhelhas (Valhelhas River Beach)

Awarded the Blue Flag for the 18th consecutive year and recognised as an Accessible Beach since 2007, Valhelhas River Beach offers moments of leisure and well-being in the clear, calm waters of the River Zêzere, set against a backdrop of rare natural beauty, right in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.Forming part of a large leisure complex, it offers a range of facilities, including a picnic area, barbecue area, drinking fountains, car park, first-aid post, lifeguard service, playing field, a children’s playground, a camping and motorhome site, extensive lawns and areas of natural shade on both banks of the bathing area, linked by a footbridge and an amphibious chair – essential equipment that promotes accessibility and enables people with reduced mobility to enjoy the bathing area and the waters of the river beach safely and comfortably.
